Contrary to what many people believe, “I Fought The Law” was not written by Bobby Fuller, although he was the one who popularized the song. He recorded several versions of it, one of them becoming a top ten hit, and it remains his best known performance, along with “Love’s Made A Fool Of You”.

“I Fought The Law” was originally written by Sonny Curtis. He recorded it with The Crickets in 1959 (post Buddy Holly).
